Johnson grass (Sorghum halepense) is a grass of the sorghum family. It is native to the Mediterranean region, but grows throughout Europe and the Middle East, and was introduced to the United States about 1830. It can now be found in every state except Minnesota, Maine, and Alaska. It reproduces by rhizomes and seeds.
